Evaluation of filming process

I think that although we created a storyboard, it was hard to transfer what was on the storyboard into our filming. This was mainly due to the fact that our storyboard lacked detail. Our script also needed to be more detailed, and the fact that it did not correspond with the storyboard and shot list made it difficult to shoot efficiently.

At the start of the shoot we had difficulty adjusting the tripod. We were unable to use the tripod, this meant that in some of our shots the camera is shaking slightly, this makes the film seem unprofessional. We did use a range of shot types, which worked well and helped show the progression of our story.

If I was to do this task again I would:
  • Make sure I fully understood how to use the camera before shooting
  • Make a detailed storyboard and script
  • Have a better idea of the lenght of each shot before shooting

The Final Version of our Preliminary Task

Year 13 - starting my A2 course

The first task we were given was to create a video of a meeting, it had to include 6-12 scenes. My group consisted of five people so we created two different films. Three of us created the first film, which was a scam, the second film was a drug deal.

The equipment we used was:

  • A cannon flip camera
  • A tripod
The location for our first film was a class room, as the tables and chairs allowed us to create a formal atmosphere. we used out side locations and a stairwell for our next location, to create an urban atmosphere.

We started by storyboarding the scene, after this, we created a script, before we filmed. After shooting, we uploaded what we had film, and aranged the shots in order.
